Stop comparing your chapter 1 to someone else's chapter 20

Yesterday I talked in my IG stories about this topic because it was bugging the crap out of me! I still feel so strongly about it and had so many people reach out yesterday saying they needed to hear this, that I wanted to put it into a post for all to read and share. It hurts my heart to see people out here comparing where they are at in their journey to people who have been working towards a similar goal longer than them. How is that even fair to yourself or realistic for that matter? Whatever it is that you are working towards, whether it’s saving for a house, starting a business or starting a weightless journey you aren’t going to be in the same place as someone who has been at it longer than you. Let that be okay! Let their achievements be motivation for you because they are an example of what could be if you don’t give up. So many get discouraged when they don’t see immediate results and even quit. I get it because I struggled with the need to be in control of everything, but even I had to let that go when it came to dream chasing. Don’t be the one that quits! Be the one who stands up at the end and says this is what you can have, this is the life you can live if you DON’T quit! Everyone that is courageous enough to chase their goals and visions will have a chapter one. Many of us even have rough drafts that you’ll never read. So right now, stop letting where other people are at in life diminish where you’re at! Clap for your damn self! Clap because you started working towards that goal and celebrate every damn milestone along the way! Life is about the journey and It’s who we become as we grow through this journey, that is what’s really powerful. The successes and achievements are just the icing on the cake baby!

XO,

Kathleen
